ABOUT KATIE

9159B4B9-7733-44B0-B5E2-A463A9742809.jpeg

My name is Katie (she/her) and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Certified Nutritionist (CN). I obtained my Master of Science in Nutrition and Clinical Health Psychology from Bastyr University and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Whitman College.

Like many in this field, I came to this work through my own journey with mental health, food, and body. I continue to do this work in hopes of connecting with others and helping them tune into the wisdom their bodies already hold on their path to healing.

I take a collaborative approach to therapy and nutrition counseling and work from a trauma-informed and weight-inclusive lens. I draw from many modalities in my work including Relational Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness, as well as other fat-positive modalities including Health at Every Size®, Body Trust® and Intuitive Eating.

We are relational beings and I believe that what has been harmed in relationship has to be healed in relationship. I trust you to know what is best for yourself and strive to help you hear and trust yourself. I am a thin, white, currently able-bodied, cis-gender woman, and these privileged identities mean I will not be the correct provider for every client. It is important to have a provider who makes you feel safe and understood and if I am not the right fit for any reason I am happy to provide referrals to help you find what you need.
